Majors, AAA and AA Continental teams are selected by coaches. If your child is interested in any of these teams, please contact Mike Duncan, CCYS' Majors baseball commissioner.  For this division, do not sign up your child to play as an individual, as each team registers and pays a team fee to Cherry Creek Youth Sports. These teams compete in the Arapahoe Youth League (AYL).

AAA & Majors SEASON
The AYL 2009 AAA & Majors season will consist of 18 games played over an 11 week season beginning Monday April 12, 2010 and will conclude on Thursday June 24, 2010.  Games will be played Mondays through Thursdays.  Teams participating in the AAA/MAJORS division may request up to four (4) bye requests for the season.

The MAJORS division will be limited to no more than eight (8) teams in each age.  For ages 11 and above, the AAA division will be limited to no more than the next eight (8) to ten (10) teams in each age (at Board discretion).  The remaining teams in the age group could participate in the AA Continental division.

Teams will register to play in the AYL AAA/Majors division, however they will not indicate the level of play desired.  At the discretion of the AYL Baseball Board, all registered teams will participate in a pre-season seeding tournament to determine the appropriate participation level of each team.  There is no fee for the seeding tournament.  The seeding tournament will be played beginning Friday March 5, 2010 through Sunday March 14, 2010, with seeding tournament games played over the weekend March 11, 12 and 13, please plan accordingly.  There are no bye requests for the seeding tournament.

For the seeding tournament, teams will be seeded in the order of their finish from the previous season, with the Majors division first, the AAA division second, and new teams randomly seeded last.  For example, if there are 6 returning Majors division teams from 2009, and 10 returning AAA division teams from 2009, the AAA teams will be seeded 7-16, new teams will then be seeded 17 and so forth.  Pre-season seeding tournament games will be played until the MAJORS, AAA and AA Continental division teams are determined.  There is no champion, nor are trophies awarded.  The 8 AAA division will not be for seeding purposes as all registered teams participate in this age group.

At the conclusion of the regular season play, the top 4 teams will participate in a single elimination playoff.  If there is a tie for the 4th place playoff spot, there will be a playoff between the tied teams. The playoffs will begin Monday June 28, 2010 and will conclude on Monday July 4, 2010, with the World Series played Tuesday July 6, 2010 thru Thursday July 8, 2010.  Trophies will be awarded to the top 2 teams participating in the World Series game.  There are no trophies for regular season finish.

Post season berths will be awarded to the qualifying teams in the MAJORS and AAA divisions as of the standings on Wednesday June 25, 2010.  There will be no post season berths for AA Continental divisions.

AA Continental
The AA Continental division is designed for the competitive team that is not quite ready to play with the top MAJORS or AAA teams in the age group, however they want to play games Monday through Friday leaving the weekends open to tournaments or participation in other weekend sports.

The AA Continental division will be offered for the ages 11, 12 and 13 only.  The AA Continental division will have a World Series champion, however no post season berths will be awarded at this level.  There are no uniform restrictions for the AA Continental division teams.

Teams participating in the AA Continental division will play under the AYL AAA/MAJORS rules.  The AA Continental World Series will be played Tuesday July 6, 2010 thru Thursday July 8, 2010.

C PREP
The C PREP league games are based upon High School baseball rules.  The playing field will include 90’ bases and 60’ 6” pitching distance with a pitching mound.  Teams are responsible for their own practice time.  AYL fields are used for games only.

There are no rosters required by the C PREP league.  There are no pitching restrictions.  There are no minimum playing time restrictions.  Players may use any bat that they desire.  There are no protests.  Games have a 2 hour time limit.  Coaches declare if they intent to bat 9/play 9, or bat the entire lineup with open substitution.  Both teams do not have to play the same substitution rule.

C PREP will have an upper division and a lower division.  The two divisions are intended to provide teams quality games against similar competition.  Coaches declare which division they intend to participate.  At the discretion of the AYL Baseball Board, teams may be moved between divisions to balance the competition.

The spring C PREP season will consist of 8 league games and a single elimination playoff at the conclusion of the spring season.  Games will be played Monday through Friday, beginning Monday March 15, 2010 through Friday May 7, 2010.  There will be no weekend games.

Schedules will be prepared with teams playing up to three (3) games per week.  In the event of a cancellation, re-scheduled games will be played at the earliest opportunity where both teams are available, not to exceed 3 games per week for either team.
