Girls Summer Softball
2010 General Information for Summer Softball
For the summer season, we will participate in the Babe Ruth Softball League. Divisions are 8 and under, 10 and under, 12 and under, 14 and under and 16 and under. There may be two conferences in each age group based on level and ability. There is a minimum play rule and everyone bats. Players may play up with an older division with league approval.
The 8 and under division is coach pitch. Games are 6 innings or one hour and thirty minutes. This level is to introduce the girls to the game and to learn the fundamentals. There is an eight run per inning limit.
The 10 and under division is modified player pitch with adult pitchers used instead of walks. Pitching is being developed so the pitchers may not pitch more than nine outs per game. There is stealing including home. Games are 6 innings or one hour and thirty minutes long. There is an eight run per inning limit.
The 12 and under division is player pitch. Pitchers are limited to nine outs per game.
Games are 6 innings or one hour and thirty minutes. There is an eight run limit per inning.
The 14, 16 and under division has 7 inning games or one hour and thirty minutes. There is an eight run limit per inning.
Season:
Games are scheduled to start Wednesday, May 6 and will end on Thursday June 25th. There is a single elimination tournament scheduled for June 26th through July 1st. Regular season games will be played Monday through Thursday with Fridays and weekends for possible make-up dates. THE WEEKENDS ARE OPEN FOR TOURNAMENTS. There will be games scheduled for the Friday before Memorial Day. The 8 and under division has a 10 game regular season and the older divisions play 12 games. There are a number of clubs in this league, so away games can be schedule throughout the Denver metro area, including Parker, and possibly Strasberg.
All star selection occurs towards the end of regular season and the All Star Tournamnet is scheduled to start July 9th. The regional tournaments will be held July 16th through the 26th. Please contact us if you need more information.

All head coaches and assistang coaches must be certified through the Babe Ruth league at a cost of $19.95. There is more information at www.baberuthleague.org.
Cherry Creek Youth Sports conducts background checks on all of our head coaches. All new head coaches need to fill out a coaches application and submit it by March 31, 2009 to treasurer@creeksports.com or fax to 303-662-1103.
We will hold a mandatory coaches meeting mid March. Details will be provided closer to the date. There will also be a mandatory league coaches meeting sometime in May. Each age group will meet for one hour. The location is yet to be determined.
Registration and Fees:
Early registration will begin January 15, 2010. Registration fees are $150 per player if registered and paid by March 30, 2010. After that date, fees increase to $175 and players will only be placed on teams if there is still space available. All cancellations will be charged a $25 processing fee up until April 20, 2010. After April 20, there will be no refunds for cancellations.
Uniforms:
Uniforms will be be available at Sports Authority Team Division, for a
cost of approximately $50.00. Do not purchase your uniform until you have met with your coach. You will get specific information regarding uniforms from your head coach.
Practices:
Practices will be scheduled twice a week before the season starts and once a week when games begin. The fields and times are to be determined.
